Downgrade iOS 10.1 to iOS 10.0.2

If you have gone ahead and updated your iPhone 7 to iOS 10.1 and are not happy with it for one reason or another, luckily there is still a way to downgrade iOS 10.1 back to iOS 10.0.3 or iOS 10.0.2 as, right now, the signing windows are still open. Some of you may find that the new update has caused a problem on your iPhone and others might not like the features it offers but, whatever the reason, if you are going to downgrade, you need to do it quickly because Apple won’t keep signing them for much longer.

If your reason for downgrading is to jailbreak your iPhone 7, there is little point because, right now there is no public jailbreak for anything newer than iOS 9.3.3. While iOS 10.1 may contain some neat new features, it won’t suit everyone and so we are going to show you how you can downgrade your iPhone 7 today.

Before You Begin :

Before you go through the steps of downgrading, ensure that you are using the latest iTunes version. To check that you are:

  1. Open iTunes and click on the Help button
  2. Click on Check for Updates itunes update mac
  3. If a new version is available, you should follow the on screen instructions to update

After you have done that, you should:

  1. Back up your iPhone 7 using iTunes or iCloud. This is to protect your data; if something goes wrong while you are downgrading and you haven’t backed up, you will lose everything
  2. Disable your passcode and Touch ID passcode_touch_id
  3. Disable Find my iPhone – tap on Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone find my iphone turn off
