The new devices have really kept up to the mark with new features and technologies. So without wasting any more time, let’s jump into the detailed features and specifications of the new iPhones along with the pricing and release dates.
iPhone 6s – iPhone 6s Plus – Features and Specifications :
It is not surprising to see that the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus are not that different from the iPhone 6 which was launched a year ago. The dimensions of the new hardware have got some minor adjustments and are now thicker to make the device stronger and to avoid the bendgate issue that had surrounded the iPhone 6 earlier. The use of a new 7000 Series aluminum casing material willl provide better structural stability to the devices.
Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus get a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch LED-backlit Retina displays respectively. The pixel resolution of the displays are 1334 x 750 pixels for the iPhone 6s and 1920 x 1080 pixels for the iPhone 6s Plus. Ion-strengthened glass provides ample screen protections while fingerprints are easily avoided with the oleophobic coating on the screens.
3D Touch :
Yes, the much-talked about Force Touch is there in the new iPhones and is called 3D Force Touch due to its three-level touch capability. Within iOS, Force Touch will be predominantly used on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus for activating a wide range of commonly requested shortcuts and also to get instant access to specific functions of first and third-party apps. The feature is called as Peek and Pop by Apple.
The new iPhones get the latest Apple A9 process and also a small raise in the amount of RAM. This will make sure that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be faster and more fluid than the previous iPhones. There is also the latest M9 Coprocessor chip that will remain powered on always in the new iPhones, making the Hey Siri command available all the time.
On the camera front, the new iPhones have received a huge chunk of improvement. The iPhone 6s gets a 12-megapixel rear camera that provides 50-percent more pixels as compared to the older iPhone 6. Then there is the new 5-megapixel FaceTime camera coupled with a new feature called Retina Flash. This feature will light up the display three times more than the original brightness, thus serving as a front-flash without an actual LED flash.
The bigger iPhone 6s Plus carries the same camera hardware as the iPhone 6s, but also gets Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). 4K video recording via the rear camera and 720p recording via the front cam is available on both the devices. Then there is a new Live Photos feature too, in which the sensor takes a frame or two before and after the shot and gives an animated look to the photo along with audio too, bringing your photos to life . No changes have been observed in the battery life, as the new iPhones will carry the same built-in lithium ion battery used in the previous iPhones. This will give the iPhone 6s a 14-hours talk time, while the iPhones Plus will be able to enjoy up to 24 hours of the same.
LTE and Wi-Fi :
As claimed by Apple, the new LTE chip in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is twice as fast as before with 23 bands. The Wi-Fi has got a similar bump and now gets twice the speed as compared to the previous iPhones.
