iOS 9 got off to a good start in terms of jailbreaks, with Pangu leading the way. Then things went a little quiet as Pangu struggled to keep up with the sudden flurry of updates that Apple released. At long last, PPHelper for iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3.3 was released by Pangu and PP Assistant, ending the jailbreak drought. Sadly, for jailbreakers, that appeared to be it as Apple quickly patched the jailbreak with a further two updates, iOS 9.3.4 and iOS 9.3.5 and no further jailbreak appeared to be forthcoming.

Jailbreak iOS 10.0.2 :
iOS 10 has now been released along with a minor update, iOS 10.0.2 and we can tell you that, contrary to popular belief, Pangu has not forgotten us. They are currently busy testing out iOS 10.0.2 Jailbreak, finding the vulnerabilities they need to exploit to form a public jailbreak. We already know that iOS 10 and iOS 10.0.1 can be jailbroken because Luca Todesco has given us the proof of iOS 10.0.1 jailbreak. As well as a video showing an iPad jailbroken on iOS 10, Todesco has also uploaded a photograph of a black iPhone 7 running Cydia on iOS 10.0.1 [ext link], making him the first to jailbreak one of the brand new handsets from the Apple stable. However, we cannot rely on Todesco for our jailbreak as he will never reveal his methods nor the exploits used to the public which leaves us waiting on Pangu. While we may be of the opinion that, if one person can do it, so can Pangu, it takes a lot of effort and hard work to turn one or two vulnerabilities into a safe working jailbreak that the public can use. For now, we need to hang on to our patience.

iOS 10.0.2 Features :
iOS 10.0.2 is a minor update, containing a couple of bug fixes, but iOS 10 contains a lot of great features that will give the tweak developers a good deal of ammunition to work with in providing the level of modification and tweaks that we have become used to. To see a list of the features that the Cydia tweak developers will be concentrating on, head over to our separate post here and get some idea of what you might see when Pangu releases the iOS 10.0.2 jailbreak.
iOS 10.0.2 Supported Devices :
Every year, we expect the oldest devices to lose support when a new firmware is released and that has happened with iOS 10. The following list is all of the iOS 10 compatible devices that will be supported by the iOS 10.0.2 jailbreak when Pangu release it:
- iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus
- iPod Touch 6th generation
