1. ReachApp = Split Screen

iOS has introduced the long-wanted multitasking feature, but it is available solely for the iPad Air 2 only as of now. But don’t let that break your heart, because with the Cydia tweak called ReachApp, you can multi-task easily on any jailbroken iOS 8 iPhone, iPod, or iPad. ReachApp provides the multi-tasking feature for all the apps, while the iOS 9 feature is currently only for native Apple apps.

2. VideoPane = Picture in Picture

The Picture in Picture mode in the iOS 9 allows you to keep and move a floating window on any part of the screen, so that you can watch a video while performing any other task. VideoPane is the Cydia tweak which brought this feature already before iOS 9. It actually is better as it provides support for all video formats, while Picture in Picture supports only a few.

3. SearchSettings = Search In Settings

The Search In Settings feature introduced in iOS 9 was a much-needed feature, allowing users to search for a particular setting and saving time instead of browsing the whole Settings menu. The same feature was brought by the Cydia tweak called SearchSettings in jailbroken devices. The sole difference between the two is that the Cydia tweak is present in Settings > General, while the native iOS 9 feature is present on the top in the Settings.

4. BattSaver = Low Power Mode

Apple claims that the iPhone 6 will be able to last an hour longer, thanks to the new iOS 9 feature called Low Power Mode. The change is a welcome one, though it was present as a Cydia tweak since long by the name of BattSaver. It basically saves power by switching off the power-hungry unimportant features.

5. SwipeSelection = QuickType

QuickType in iOS 9 is a good news for those who type a lot. The new Notes app will have this feature with which you can copy, cut, or edit any text just with a swipe gesture. It has been lifted off directly from the Cydia tweak SwipeSelection, though QuickType is better and smoother.

6. RelevApp = Proactivity App Recommendations

Proactivity App Recommendations in iOS 9 will give you recommendations based on your location with just a swipe across the screen. The old ‘RelevApp’ tweak provided the same function in jailbroken devices.

7. ColorFlow = Music App Color

The Music App Color feature in iOS 9 changes the music player skin as per the album art of the currently playing song. The Cydia tweak ‘ColorFlow’ has been already doing this since long.

8. ConvoPics = Text Contact Photos

Text Contact Photos makes the contact photos visible in the Messaging app in iOS 9. In a jailbroken iOS 8 device, you can enjoy this feature by installing the ConvoPics tweak.

9. LastApp = Back To App

‘Back to App’ in iOS 9 is an extremely useful feature. Using the Back to App option that appears on the top left corner of the screen, you will be taken directly to the last app that you were using, thus saving a lot of time by avoiding the need of going through the home screen and the menu once again.

The ‘LastApp’ tweak does the same on jailbroken iOS 8 devices. But with this tweak, you can customize the gesture which you want to use to go to the last app.

10. DetailedBatteryUsage = Hourly Battery Tracking

Last but not the least, the ‘DetailedBatteryUsage’ tweak has directly been lifted from Cydia and incorporated into the iOS 9 by the new name of  ‘Hourly Battery Tracking’. The feature gives you an in-depth report about the battery usage by different features and apps, and thus you know what to turn-off to save the battery.

Now enjoy these cydia tweaks on your jailbroken iOS 8 device and feel the power of iOS 9 in your hands, without even installing it . For more news and tutorials, subscribe to our Newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
