iOS 11.4 firmware has been released, hot on the heels of iOS 11.3. The new update is only a small one, mostly bug fixes, but it does include a couple of exciting new features. iOS 11.4 is available for download right now and in a short while, we’ll take a look at the ways in which you can do that. First, here’s what you can expect to find in the latest iOS release.

iOS 11.4 Features :
As always, Apple has included a number of security and bug fixes, along with a few improvements and enhancements but there are also a couple of extra features:
- Schoolwork and ClassKit
These were both previewed in March at the Apple Education event. ClassKit is aimed at those who develop educational apps, allowing information and activities to be designated, so that it works in tandem with Schoolwork. Schoolwork is aimed at teachers for handing out information, assignments and for tracking the progress of their students.
- HomePod Stereo and AirPlay 2
Some of you may have spotted that AirPlay 2 showed up in the iOS 11.3 betas but didn’t make the final cut. Instead, it has reappeared in iOS 11.4 along with support for using 2 HomePod speakers at the same time.
- iCloud Messages
This feature has been a long time coming and, again, made its way into the iOS 11.3 betas before being removed for the final release. It has made it into iOS 11.4 though.

iOS 11.4 Jailbreak Update :
With iOS 11.4 being so new, there won’t be a jailbreak for it right now and, to be honest, given the flack of jailbreaks over the last year or so, it isn’t looking particularly hopeful that there will be one either. However, Apple will shortly be turning their attention to iOS 12 and that could give the jailbreak developers some breathing space to find and use something to build a jailbreak with. If you are finding it hard not having access to some of your favorite Cydia content, then consider the alternatives. Several third-party app installers have been released to bring us a little bit of Cydia without needing to jailbreak. Have a look at these and see how you get on with them.
