Taig jailbreak team has been somewhat quiet since the last jailbreak which was for iOS 9.1. The big question on everyone’s lips is, will they come up with an iOS 10 jailbreak ? With iOS 10 now revealed and the first beta seeded to the developers, we can begin to take a look at it and determine if there are any possibilities for a jailbreak or not. The Taig jailbreak team will be examining the beta releases as they come out but we will not know if there is going to be an iOS 10 jailbreak until September after the firmware has been released publicly.

iOS 10 Jailbreak
With the iOS 10 download out [ext link], one feature that all attention will be on is “Rootless”, Apple’s latest security system. Unlike the other systems they have come out with over the years, this one is reported to be deep enough to stop certain bits of the iOS from being accessed even if you have administrator privileges, and that could have a huge effect on the iOS 10 jailbreak.

In the coming months, Taig will be looking to see just how deep the system goes and if there is any way that they can get around it. They won’t know for definite until the final beta release because they have no way of knowing what Apple is going to patch in each release. That is why, if they do find any exploits in the iOS 10 download, they won’t tell us because they don’t want Apple knowing if they can help it.
iOS 10 Features :
We are just starting to look at the iOS 10 download and it will take a while before all the features become known. As things stand we have at least 3 months before the iOS 10 download is made public and a great deal can happen between now and then – stuff can be added and stuff can also be removed if it isn’t working. We can look at some of what we would like to see in iOS 10; features that the jailbreak developers can use as a basis for the next set of tweaks.
- Home App – a dedicated app that helps you to control your Smart home appliances using your iOS device
- Voicemail – using Siri, you can have your phone calls answered when you can’t take them and have the messages translated into text for you
- Find my Friends – update for better support in iOS 10 and very soon you will be able to use it for much more than just being able to find your friends, including seeing the status of their iPhone and whether they are available or not
- Customization – something that we have all been asking Apple for they may be giving us the opportunity to customize our Control Center.
iOS 10 Support :
The iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are being dropped from the list this year, no surprise really as they are both quite old devices and simply don’t have the hardware to support the new firmware and that means that unfortunately, they won’t be able to use the iOS 10 jailbreak either.
Over the next month or so, we will learn if Apple really is intent on stopping an iOS 10 jailbreak or not. If there is a way around it, Taig will find it and we will see the jailbreak soon after iOS 10 is released to the public.
